Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin is a native of Canada and New Zealand actress. She was born in Winnipeg however, she was raised in Wellington She made her first acting appearance as a character in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at 11 years old, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on the 24th of July, 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian born New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded the Academy Award for best support actress. Her performance as the talkative and inquisitive young girl Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the award. Paquin played the lead role in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part in the film as Jane Eyre when she was just a young child. Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the TV version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of Queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 feature film Amistad. The role she played was for teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). She also was the character of the teenage groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
